Frenhofer·Xie Nanxing -- The 6th session of "Out-of-Academic · Art Forum" was Successfully Held.

On the evening of December 10, 2020, at 6:30 PM, the sixth session of "Out-of-Academic· Art Forum", jointly organized by the School of Fine Arts of Nanjing Normal University and Art Monthly Art Center (AMAC), was held at the Xuezheng building of Xianlin Campus. This lecture was given by Zhu Zhu (poet, critic and curator).

Zhu Zhu, born in 1969. Poet, curator, art critic, has won Angao Poetry Award, China Contemporary Art Award, Hu Shi Poetry Award. He is the author of several collections of poetry, essays, and art criticism, including The Chinese anthology "Suitcase" and "Winter on the Fifth Avenue", the French anthology "Qingyan", the English anthology "The Wild Great Wall", and the art criticism collection "The Grey Carnival: Chinese Contemporary Art since 2000".

At the beginning of the lecture, Mr. Zhu first explaned the theme of today's lecture, Xie Nanxing, and the development process and artistic turn of his artistic creation, as well as why the artistic turn occurred. As a generation of Chinese artists born in the 1970s, Xie has always stuck to easel painting in the face of the prevalence of contemporary art. His works are changeable, moving back and forth between reality and ideas, and constantly in the process of self-renewal and subversion.

Then, after a complete review of the artist Xie Nanxing's artistic transformation in different periods over the years, Mr. Zhu introduced Xie's artistic creation with a novel style review -- "Frankenhofer·Xie Nanxing". Centering on three works of Xie Nanxing, the review included three parts: Exhibition of What, Seven Portraits and Waiting Theatre. Mr. Zhu invented a story. Hed the readers to find out the truth. Through dialogue, he put Franghofer, Xie Nanxing and Zhu Zhu in the same scene. It not only integrated the vivid individual cases of artists into the novel, but also breaks the conventional thinking of artistic criticism that we have been exposed to in the past through this vivid dialogue. Mr. Zhu's in-depth analysis of the content of the novel, as well as the creative ideas and artistic criticism he shared, has given students new thinking and perspectives.

At the end of the lecture, Mr. Zhu had an extensive and in-depth exchange and discussion with all the teachers and students present here. Through this lecture, the students had a new understanding of artistic criticism and a deeper understanding of countermeasures exhibition activities. In addition, Mr. Meng Yao combined with the content of Mr. Zhu to make a certain summary of this lecture. The lecture successfully ended in a happy and relaxed atmosphere.
