Reflections and Insights on Writing Decision-Making Consulting Reports

On the morning of December 25, the School of Business held the 68th Teacher Development Center Forum in Room 228 of Xingmin Building. Researcher Zheng Qiongjie from the Economic Development Research Institute of Nanjing Academy of Social Sciences was invited to give a presentation titled "Reflections and Insights on Writing Decision-Making Consulting Reports." The forum was hosted by Associate Professor Bian Yuanchao, the head of the International Economics and Trade Department, and attended by many faculty and students.

Researcher Zheng Qiongjie elaborated on how to write decision-making consulting reports from three aspects: cognition, key points, and insights. She emphasized that the style of a decision-making consulting report should combine both theoretical and practical elements, maintain a problem-oriented approach, and accurately grasp the structure and paradigm of such reports. Zheng also recommended two practical types for writing decision-making consulting reports—categorical expression and research reports. She stressed that writing a decision-making consulting report is not a one-time effort; it is essential to establish a quality awareness.

In the end, Researcher Zheng engaged in a discussion with the faculty and students on how to write an excellent decision-making consulting report and conduct high-quality research, patiently answering students' questions. The forum concluded with warm applause, leaving the participants with a clearer understanding of the content, structure, and writing methods of consulting reports.
