At the invitation of Professor Yafei Li , School of Chemistry and Materials Science, Nanjing Normal University, Professor Yuen Wu from university of Science and Technology of China came to our university for academic exchanges on December 27, 2019, and made a wonderful academic report using the title of "Catalyst rational design from surface to atom" . The report was chaired by Professor Yafei Li, and teachers and students in related fields participated in this academic report.
In this report, Professor Yuen Wu first introduced the process of people's understanding of the micro-world. From the aspects of activity and selectivity, he briefly describes why we choose to single-atom catalyst. The hot spots and difficulties in the research field of single-atom catalyst materials are also introduced systematically, and the modern characterization instruments for catalysts. And highlighted their topic and established a series of new methods for the controlled synthesis and functionalization of single-atom catalyst materials. At the same time, we mainly study the related processes of oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In addition, it has actively carried out in-depth cooperation with relevant industrial technical personnel and related enterprises to build important production lines for mass production. Finally, Professor Wu looked forward to the four trends in the development of synthetic chemistry, to ensure functionalization, intelligence, integration, and precision synthesis. After the report, Professor Yuen Wu and the teachers and students attended the discussion and discussed the questions raised by the teachers and students in detail. The report ended successfully with warm applause.
