Lecture:Concentration and Purification of Nuclear Elements Using Hollow Giant Metal Oxide Clusters

At the invitation of the School of Chemistry and Materials Science, Nanjing Normal University, Professor Lan Yaqian from South China Normal University visited the school for academic exchange on December 19, 2025, and delivered an academic report entitled "Concentration and Purification of Nuclear Elements Using Hollow Giant Metal Oxide Clusters" in Conference Room 302 of the Huayu Building. Teachers and students from relevant majors of the school attended the report.

Professor Lan Yaqian is a Second-Class Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Director of the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education, Director of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory, Dean of the School of Chemistry, Deputy Director of the University Academic Committee, and Director of the Professional Title Evaluation Committee at South China Normal University. Over the past five years, he has published more than 200 papers as corresponding author in prestigious journals including Nat. Syn, Sci. Adv., PNAS, Nat. Commun. (14 papers), J. Am. Chem. Soc. (22 papers), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (60 papers), Adv. Mater. (10 papers), Chem (3 papers), Matter (2 papers), Natl. Sci. Rev. (8 papers), and CCS Chem (4 papers). His papers have been cited more than 36,000 times, with 46 ESI Highly Cited Papers and a personal H-index of 102. In this report, Professor Lan Yaqian mainly introduced several aspects including crystalline materials, recovery of transuranic elements, and separation strategies for transuranic elements.

Professor Lan's report was logically rigorous and rich in content. After the report, he patiently and meticulously answered the questions raised by the teachers and students present, benefiting all attendees greatly. At the end of the report, teachers and students expressed their gratitude to Professor Lan Yaqian with warm applause and looked forward to his visit to Nanjing Normal University again.
