At the invitation of the Language Information Processing Laboratory of the School of Computer Science and Technology, Professor Zhou Guodong, Director of the Natural Language Processing Laboratory of Suzhou University, and others visited our school and gave an academic talk entitled "Science in Research: From Research Planning, Idea Implementation to Thesis Writings" .

In this talk, Professor Zhou first talked about scientific research planning and scientific research methods, introduced valuable experience in scientific research topic selection, research planning, thesis writing, etc., and then combined with his experiences about funding application for many years and project review experience. The basic methods, requirements and experiences of various national funding applications were shared. After that, Professor Kong Fang, Associate Professor Li Junhui, and Dr. Wang Zhongqing have fully exchanged and shared their scientific research experience, graduate training methods and management experience, respectively.

 

Short Bio:

Professor Zhou Guodong is the director and PhD supervisor of the Natural Language Processing Laboratory of Suzhou University. He has unique insights and in-depth research in the fields of natural language understanding, information extraction, and natural language cognition. In the past 5 years, he has published more than 100 papers in SCI journals, CCF A / B international conferences, and is PI of 4 NSFC projects. Currently serving as deputy editor-in-chief of ACM TALLIP, executive editor of "Journal of Software", deputy director of CCF Special Committee on Chinese Information Technology, deputy director of Special Committee on Natural Language Understanding of Chinese Artificial Intelligence Society, and member of the Academic Committee of Suzhou University.
