Short Bio:

Professor Yang Gao is currently vice director of the Department of Computer Science and Technology, Nanjing University. He is the Executive vice president of National Institute of Healthcare Data Science at Nanjing University. In 2009, he was elected as the second batch of young and middle-aged scientific and technological leaders of "333 High-Level Talents Training Project" of Jiangsu Province, and in 2010, he was selected as the New Century Excellent Talents Plan of Ministry of Education. Professor Gao started his academic research in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, multi-agent systems, big data, image and video analysis in 1997. As the first person in charge, he has presided over one key project of National Natural Science Foundation of China, one joint fund of military and civilian generic technology of National Natural Science Foundation of China, one joint fund project of Ministry of Education for equipment pre-research, three general projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and one youth project. He has presided over a special project of international cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, a key project of Jiangsu Natural Science Foundation (Jiangsu 973 Project), a major project of Science and Technology Innovation 2030 -- "New Generation Artificial Intelligence" of the Ministry of Science and Technology and a project of JW-KJW Special Innovation Zone. Based on the research results, he has published more than 150 academic papers in the international academic journals (IEEE Trans. series), international conferences (CCF A, CCF B) and the national first-class journals (Computer Journal, Software Journal, etc.). He had 10 authorized patents, one international PCT patent; Second prize of Science and Technology Award of Jiangsu Province (No. 1) and second prize of Wenjun Wu Award on Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology (No. 1).

 

Currently, he is an expert in JW-KJW Machine Intelligence and Humanoid Intelligence, and an expert in JW-ZF Artificial Intelligence Equipment Professional Group. He is also a consulting expert of Information Department, National Natural Science Foundation of China, the vice director of Machine Learning Committee, the vice director of Granule Computing and Knowledge Discovery Committee, the vice director of Intelligence Service Committee, the standing committee member and secretary general of Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition Professional Committee of China Computer Federation, the vice-group leader of Multi-agent and Intelligent System Group, the member of Big Data Expert Committee, the vice chairman of Artificial Intelligence Society of Jiangsu Province, the leader of Artificial Intelligence Standard Working Group of Software and Information Service Standardization Committee of Jiangsu Province. He is the editorial member of Journal of Software, Caai Transactions on Intelligent Systems, Computer Science, Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, and ZTE Communications.
