Professor Aoying Zhou, Vice President of East China Normal University, gave a talk entitled "Insights of Artificial Intelligence and Visions of Smart Finance" at the invitation of the School of CEI/AI on May 7, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. The academic presentation was hosted by Professor Genlin Ji, Dean of the School. Many faculties and graduate students of the school attended the presentation.

 

 

We are experiencing an information technology revolution represented by artificial intelligence, and the Internet is profoundly changing the world, highlighting the energy (Data Power) properties of data. This is not just a technological starting point, but a new enlightenment movement that will bring about new scientism, rationalism, and humanism. It will change human perception and consciousness. The deep integration with information technology will bring about fundamental changes in finance, and the use of information technology can realize new finance with Chinese characteristics that are "people-oriented" and "serves the development of the real economy". The way to develop financial technology (FinTech) is to develop innovative information technology based on financial innovation.

 

Professor Zhou's humorous and scientifically rigorous presentations, and the warm and academic atmosphere of the whole presentation greatly broadened the scientific horizons of the faculties and students, who all benefited greatly from it. After the talk, Prof. Zhou had a lively academic communication with the faculties and students, and the talk was successfully concluded with warm applause.

 

Short Bio:

Professor Aoying Zhou, Vice President of East China Normal University, is the Director of ”Smart+ Institute”. He has been selected as a member of Chang Jiang Scholars and was granted by a National Outstanding Youth Program. Currently, he is a member of the 8th State Council Discipline Review Group and a member of the 8th Science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of Education. In 2016, he successfully founded the School of Data Science and Engineering in East China Normal University. He has won the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of the Ministry of Education and Shanghai three times, and the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress once. His main research interests include database, data management, digital transformation, and innovative information technology for transformative applications such as Financial Technology (FinTech), Education Technology (EduTech), and Logistics Technology (LogTech).
