Invited Talk of Professor Xue Jiang from Fudan University

Professor Xue Jiang, a young associate researcher from the School of Information Science and Engineering of Fudan University, gave a talk entitled "Exploration and Application of Acoustic Artificial Structures" at the invitation of the School of Computer and Electronic Information on June 5, 2021. The talk was hosted by Associate Professor Gepu Guo, and some leaders, full-time teachers, graduate students and undergraduates attended the report.

In this talk, Professor Jiang introduced the design, formation and working mechanism of acoustic artificial structures (phonon crystals, acoustic superstructure materials, etc.), focusing on the generation and manipulation of acoustic orbital angular momentum based on acoustic artificial structures, acoustic orbital angular momentum communication technology, and the application of acoustic orbital angular momentum in medical ultrasound and other cutting-edge work, pointing out the importance of acoustic artificial structures in ultrasound control, acoustic communication, medical ultrasound and industrial nondestructive testing. The importance of acoustic artificial structures in the fields of ultrasound control, acoustic communication, medical ultrasound and industrial non-destructive testing is pointed out.

Professor Jiang's report was scientifically rigorous and indepth, popularizing the profound theories and carrying out relevant expansions with the practical applications of acoustics, which broadened the horizons of teachers and students and aroused their research interests. After the academic report, Professor Jiang had a lively exchange with the teachers and students present around the issues of sound field manipulation and communication, and the talk was successfully concluded in a lively discussion.
