[Invited Talk] Professor Kailiang Xu and Professor Chengcheng Liu from Fudan University, Professor Zheng Xu from Tongji University
Professor Kailiang Xu and Professor Chengcheng Liu from Fudan University, and Professor Zheng Xu from Tongji University gave academic reports in Room109, Mingli Building, Xianlin Campus, on Dec. 4, 2025.

Professor Zheng Xu from Tongji University shared the research results of his research group in the field of sound wave applications under the theme of "Sound Field Control and Particle Transport Methods". Professor Xu pointed out that ultrasound can generate acoustic radiation force on particles in liquids, and by precisely controlling the sound field distribution, particle confinement or directional movement can be achieved. The report focuses on three core contents: imaging and quantitative measurement systems for sound fields, the application of sound wave control in particle point line surface confinement, and particle transport methods constructed with specific sound waves. Its research results provide new ideas for the application of ultrasound technology in the field of micro manipulation. Professor Xu has been deeply involved in the research of ultrasound effects and their biomedical applications for a long time. He has led the National Natural Science Foundation of China's youth and general projects, participated in national key research and development programs, and has won the National Youth Talent Award Program. He has published more than 40 internationally authoritative academic papers with a citation rate of over 1200 times.

Professor Kailiang Xu from Fudan University brings a keynote speech on "Ultrasound Science Tools: From Microvascular Imaging, Brain Function Analysis to the Cross Cutting Edge of Non Invasive Brain Computer". In response to the pain points of limited spatial resolution and insufficient temporal resolution of CT and MRI in brain functional imaging, Professor Xu, combined with the latest progress of Fudan University's Smart Medical Ultrasound Laboratory, systematically introduced three core technologies: ultra fast ultrasound whole brain blood flow monitoring and brain functional imaging methods with a temporal resolution of less than 10ms, super-resolution positioning micro whole brain 3D microvascular imaging technology with a spatial resolution of ≤ 5 μ m, and innovative ideas and challenges of closed-loop brain computer interface based on functional ultrasound imaging. Professor Kailiang Xu presides over projects such as the Youth Science Fund Class A (2025), the Key Research and Development Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology (2023), the Overseas High level Young Talents Program of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee (2019), and the Marie Curie Scholars Program of the European Union (2014).

Professor Chengcheng Liu from Fudan University gave a presentation on the progress of ultrasound imaging technology for bone tissue based on acoustic models. Ultrasound imaging is widely used in the diagnosis of muscle and bone tissue lesions due to its real-time, portable, safe, and non-destructive advantages. However, it faces many challenges in bone tissue imaging due to limitations in spatial resolution and imaging contrast. Professor Chengcheng Liu has long been committed to research in the field of medical ultrasound, publishing over 100 SCI papers. He has led national excellent youth, general projects, major instrument development projects, key research and development plans, and the Shanghai Qimingxing Talent Project; Won the Excellent Invention Gold Award in the Shanghai Excellent Invention Selection Competition (2024), the First Prize in Shanghai Natural Science Award (2022), the Second Prize in Science and Technology Progress of the Ministry of Education (2016), the Second Prize in Shanghai Natural Science Award (2018), and the Gold Award at the Geneva Invention Exhibition (2019).
