Professor Qingshan Liu, dean of School of Computer Science of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, gave a talk entitled "Remote Sensing Image Analysis and Application Based on Deep Learning " at the invitation of the School of Computer and Electronic Information on June 23, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. The academic presentation was hosted by Professor Genlin Ji, Dean of the School of CEI/AI, and full-time faculties and graduate students of the School attended the presentation.

 

In recent years, deep learning has become an important driving force for the rapid development of image understanding, pattern recognition and other fields. This talk briefly reviews the development of visual feature learning, introduces the team's research on visual feature deep learning, and focuses on the analysis and application of remote sensing images.

 

Professor Liu's humorous and scientifically rigorous language and the warm and academic atmosphere of the whole presentation greatly broadened the scientific horizons of teachers and students, who all benefited greatly from it. After the lecture, Prof. Liu had a lively academic exchange with the teachers and students present, and the lecture was successfully concluded with warm applause.

 

Short Bio:

Professor Qingshan Liu, dean of School of Computer and Software of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, is the winner of national fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars, Ministry of Education. He is mainly engaged in pattern recognition, image understanding and other research. In recent years, he has presided over and undertaken the projects of national fund for Distinguished Youth and National Natural Science Fund. He has won the second prize of natural science of Ministry of education, the first prize of natural science of Chinese Institute of Electronics and the second prize of natural science of China Computer Federation. He also serves as deputy director of the Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence, director of the academic working committee of the China Society of Image and Graphics, and vice chairman of the Jiangsu Assocaition of Artificial Intelligence.
