Professor Qiwen Zhan from Shanghai University of Science and Technology and researcher Kebin Shi from Peking University gave two talks entitled "Temporal control of light field and its application" and "Light field control and its application in light manipulation" at our school on December 30, 2021. The academic presentation was hosted by Professor Qingyu Ma Zhou, Associate Dean of the School of Computer and Electronic Information.

 

Prof. Zhan reviewed the research progress in the spatial regulation of light field amplitude, phase, polarization and ellipticity. Then he introduced a new light field time-space control method, which will have important potential research and application value in the fields of optical communication, optical information processing, quantum optics, particle manipulation, and relativistic space physics.

 

Researcher Shi introduced the dynamic polarization/vector light field and its application based on optical frequency modulation, and the imaging research based on precise phase and wave vector modulation/detection.
