Professor Weiwei Chen from Army Engineering University of PLA gave report titled “Adhere to the essence of education, innovate intelligent teaching - Six step curriculum construction empowered by data" in Room 109, Mingli Building, Xianlin Campus, on Dec. 3, 2025, at 14:00 pm.

 

The essence of education is to cultivate people, which is the core of 'unchanged'; digital technology is the means of empowerment, which is the support of 'change'. Professor Chen Weiwei emphasized in explaining the core concept of the project that digital transformation is not a subversion of traditional education, but a return to the origin of 'student-centered' education through technological means. Based on this understanding, the team has developed a six-step curriculum construction system guided by the OBE concept. From setting course objectives, reconstructing content, implementing teaching, to evaluating feedback, every step is guided by the "learning centered" approach. By accurately capturing students' learning data, the scientific decision-making of teaching is achieved.

Short Bio:

Weiwei Chen is a professor of the Army Engineering University of PLA, an outstanding teacher in the army, a national exemplary individual for women to excel, a member of the Computer Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education in colleges and universities, and a deputy director of the Joint Conference on Computer Teaching in military colleges and universities. He has won the Class I post allowance for outstanding professional and technical personnel in the military, and has won the third personal merit twice. She hosted and completed one national first-class undergraduate course and one national high-quality online open course. She received 1 second prize for National Excellent Textbook Construction Award, 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 5 third prizes for military teaching achievements. She won the first prize (first place) in the individual all-around competition for teaching ability of former communication college teachers.  She received 1 second prize and 2 third prizes for military scientific and technological progress. Train one graduate student who has obtained the title of "Excellent Master's Thesis in Jiangsu Province". Authorized 4 patents, published over 100 papers, and authored 22 monographs or textbooks (3 textbooks were selected as national level planning textbooks for undergraduate education in the 11th Five Year Plan, 12th Five Year Plan, and 14th Five Year Plan)..
