A delegation of teachers and students from the School of Education of Tohoku University visited the School of Educational Sciences of Nanjing Normal University
From September 21 to 23, 2025, the School of Educational Sciences at Nanjing Normal University hosted a delegation from Tohoku University’s School of Education, organizing a three-day academic and cultural exchange. Activities included campus tours, student dialogues, school visits, and lectures, offering Japanese participants an in-depth look into China’s educational practices and cultural context.
On the first day, the delegation visited the Xianlin Campus, engaging in group discussions with students from the school of Educational Sciences and the School of Psychology . In the afternoon, they toured the Nanjing Imperial Examination Museum, learning about China’s imperial examination history and Qinhuai River cultural sites.

The second day featured visits to Nanjing Jinling Middle School and Nanjing Xingzhi Education Group, where Japanese students discussed student counseling, teaching innovation, and the “integration of teaching and doing” philosophy with local educators.
On the final day, Professor Xiang Xianming delivered a lecture titled "Philosophy of Harmony and Education for International Understanding of China," and Professor Liu Jing gave a lecture entitled "Education and Sustainable Development: A Path of Urban-Rural Integration." Both sessions stimulated meaningful dialogue on educational philosophy and sustainable development.
This visit deepened mutual understanding and international perspectives, reinforcing the longstanding partnership between the two schools. Nanjing Normal University remains committed to fostering global educational cooperation and cultivating future leaders with broad cultural and academic horizons.
