July 14th to 28th,2018,seven students from School of Education Science（Nanjing Normal University）attended a two-week summer course in the Faculty of humanities and social sciences （University of Strathclyde, UK）.
This course not only had the English teacher Heather for the students to instruct the English reading and writing ability, moreover, also had 9 teachers to bring the academic lectures and the individual research about the Scottish politics, literature, tradition culture, music and so on, letting the schoolmates further experience Scottish culture and the academic environment. In addition, the school had arranged many opportunities for outdoor visits. The students took a sightseeing bus to explore the whole Glasgow, visited Edinburgh Castle, and enjoyed the view of Loch Lomond. In the course of the visit, the students really understand what was the saying went:"Read thousands of books and walk the road".The school also arranged a dance, dinner and other social activities, so that students met a lot of foreign friends, experiencing the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western culture, feeling the different exotic scenery and culture.
At the end of the course, the students were divided into groups to made the summary report,according to study in two weeks. Dr. Amy,the dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social sciences, and teacher Heather were reviewed. They praised the students in the language of great progress, also, were very happy that students learned the Scottish culture of serious study and had careful observation, and hoped that the students would have the opportunity to come back to Glasgow ,this beautiful city.The students have said the two-week time was very good in Glasgow, hoping that the British teachers have the opportunity to come to China.
