On October 13, 2025, at 13:30, upon invitation from the School of Educational Sciences at Nanjing Normal University, Professor Alan Cheung from The Chinese University of Hong Kong delivered a special lecture titled "Statistical Power Estimation for Educational Research" to faculty and students.

Professor Cheung is currently Chair Professor and Head of the Department of Educational Administration and Policy, and Director of the Centre for University and School Partnership at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also a Visiting Professor at Johns Hopkins University. His research interests span evidence-based educational reform, bilingual education, and educational technology. He has led and participated in numerous large-scale randomized experiments and studies, with publications in top-tier international journals such as Review of Educational Research (RER, ERR), Journal of Educational Psychology (JEP), American Educational Research Journal (AERJ), and Reading Research Quarterly (RRQ).

The lecture was hosted by Professor Yao Jijun.
