On the morning of October 17, 2025, an academic lecture focusing on the philosophy and practice of early childhood education in Japan was successfully held in the International Conference Hall. The event featured two distinguished speakers: Professor Liu Xiangying, Director and Vice President of Fukuyama City University (a Japanese public university corporation), and a faculty member of the Department of Childhood Education in the Faculty of Education; and Ms. Ishikawa Yukie, Executive Director of the Social Welfare Corporation Aiji Fukushikai and former Principal of the Aiji Fukushikai Good Partners Nursery School. The lecture attracted undergraduate and graduate students from the college, as well as principals and teachers from local kindergartens and childcare institutions in Nanjing, creating a vibrant academic atmosphere. Professor Wang Lingyan, Vice Dean of the college, attended the lecture, which was moderated by Professor Liu Jingbo from the Department of Early Childhood Education.

 During the nearly five-hour academic session, the two speakers addressed two core issues critical to the development of high-quality early childhood education: the cultivation of highly qualified teachers and child-centered practices. They approached these topics from both the institutional perspective of university talent development and the practical perspective of frontline childcare. This lecture not only broadened the international academic horizons of the undergraduate and graduate students at the School of Educational Science but also provided valuable practical insights for early childhood education practitioners in Nanjing.
