The Asia Education Leadership Winter Course was successfully held from January 12 to 21, 2025, at Nanjing Normal University in Nanjing, China. Initiated in 2014 by Nanjing Normal University's School of Educational Science and School of Psychology, in collaboration with Tohoku University (Japan), Korea University (South Korea), National Taiwan Normal University, and National Chengchi University (Taiwan, China), the Asia Education Leader Program features alternating summer and winter sessions hosted by partner institutions. This winter course focused on three core themes: Education Reforms in China, Regression Analysis, and Children’s Development in China. Through keynote lectures and group discussions, it aimed to foster in-depth exchanges on critical issues in education. Experts from various fields were invited to explore pressing educational challenges through diverse formats.

The opening ceremony, chaired by Dr. Zhu Hongyang from the School of Educational Science, began with a welcome address and program overview. Professor Wang Jianhua, representing the school, warmly greeted participants and reflected on the program's decade-long journey since 2014, noting that hundreds had participated while thousands benefited. Drawing parallels between global warming and seasonal cycles, he encouraged students to remain steadfast in their original aspirations amid changing times. "Like the perpetual cycle of seasons," he remarked, "the AEL program maintains its excellence regardless of time or location changes." He emphasized the founders' vision and urged participants to cherish this opportunity, aspiring them to become future leaders advancing Asian education. Highlighting Nanjing Normal University's international reputation in educational sociology, moral education, and early childhood education, Professor Wang wished students success in their global academic pursuits while contributing to pedagogical advancements.
