From November 24th to December 8th, 2023, nineteen undergraduate students from the School of Educational Science participating "2023 The University of British Columbia--Nanjing Normal University Excellent Teacher Training Project", led by Associate Professor Tao Ying from the Department of Preschool Education, stepped into the British Columbia University, Canada, for a two-week exchange and study tour.

The University of British Columbia (UBC) is a top university located in Vancouver, Canada. The school has outstanding performance in education, computer science, medicine and other disciplines, providing students with rich learning and research opportunities.

To know is to know, and to act is to be true. During the two-week study, gourp members, led by Professor Kathleen Barter, learned about the educational background of British Columbia and explored the curriculum capabilities, core concepts and curriculum design. After re-examining the understanding of the curriculum and teaching, gourp members focused their education on developing students' understanding and application, and tried to achieve synergy and union among multiple disciplines.

During the exchange, gourp members also visited Queen Mary Elementary School, a local elementary school in North Vancouver, to observe the real teaching situation of the school, personally experience the local classroom format and atmosphere, and to have in-depth exchanges with students and teachers in BC on curriculum, teaching and assessment.

This outstanding teacher training project is not only a valuable overseas learning and exchange opportunity, but also a long-lasting educational journey. Gourp members will continue to improve their professionalism and education and teaching abilities in the future learning process, find the way forward through curiosity, find new knowledge through critical thinking, and finally reach the other side of education!
