2020 International Top-Level Forum on Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy & the 5th "Purple Mountain Forum Successfully Held

On August 15th, the 2020 International Top-Level Forum on Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy & the 5th Purple Mountain Forum was successfully held at the Conference Center of NARI Group Corporation.

This forum is sponsored by Chinese Academy of Engineering, and co-sponsored by department of energy and mining engineering of CAE, State Grid Electric Power Research Institute Co., Ltd. (Nanrui Group Co., Ltd.) as well as the State Key Laboratory of Smart Grid Protection and Control. It was conducted in the way of live and online broadcast, and more than 70000 people visited the conference online.

58 academicians, professors and well-known scholars from 7 countries, including China, the United States, Canada, Italy, Australia, Japan and Singapore, were invited to give keynote speeches. Centering on the theme of "power system actively supporting green and low-carbon energy transformation", the conference shared the latest research results in energy transformation, new energy consumption, power Internet of things, artificial intelligence and other fields.

Li Xiaohong (academician of the CAE and the President of the CAE), Leng Jun (the Chairman of NARI Group), Zhang Zhigang (the deputy general manager of the State Grid) and Ma Qiulin (the vice governor of Jiangsu Province) were invited to make a welcoming speech.

Ten experts, including the academicians of the CAE such as Shu Yinbiao, Liu Jizhen, Luo an, Xue Yusheng, Zhang Yuzhuo and Tang Guangfu, academicians of American Academy of engineering like Michael B. McElroy and Nelson Martins, Chen Guoping, the chief engineer of State Grid,  and Zheng Yuping, the director of State Key Laboratory of Smart Grid Protection and Control, delivered keynote speeches at the opening ceremony, which were shown in the order of speeches in the main forum.

Gu Dazhao, Guo Jianbo and Shen Guorong, academicians of the CAE, as well as nearly 200 experts, scholars and guest representatives from colleges and universities, government departments, industry associations and energy enterprises attended the main forum. Five representatives from our college of Nanjing Normal University were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the forum.

 

The "Purple Mountain Forum" is one of the most influential annual academic activities in the field of smart grid in China. It aims to promote the academic exchange and contention of electric power science and technology development under the background of comprehensive energy. The representatives of our college carefully listened to and studied the keynote reports of experts and scholars, which was indeed a rich academic feast.
