Jiangsu Sci-Tech Resource Center and Xianlin University Town Management Committee Visit to Discuss Magnetorheological Smart Vibration Damping Technology Commercialization
On September 16, a five-member delegation from the Jiangsu Science and Technology Resource Coordination Service Center and the Xianlin University Town Management Committee visited our institute for a focused review of the new magnetorheological smart vibration damping technology developed by Associate Professor Zhang Hailong’s research team. The visit was attended by Wang Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Xianlin University Town Management Committee; Hong Lijun, Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Office; Hao Siliang, Chief; as well as Zhang Gang, Vice Dean of the institute, and Gao Xiang, Deputy Director of the Experimental Center. The study was chaired by Zhang Hailong.

Zhang Gang first warmly welcomed the leaders from the Jiangsu Science and Technology Resource Coordination Service Center and the Xianlin University Town Management Committee on behalf of the institute, and expressed gratitude for their long-term concern and support for the institute’s scientific research and technology commercialization efforts. He introduced the institute’s recent progress in building high-level laboratories, forming research teams, and achieving representative results, highlighting particularly the institute’s scientific research strength and foundation for technology transfer in areas such as new power systems, intelligent equipment, and advanced control.
Subsequently, Zhang Hailong provided a detailed introduction to the high-performance magnetorheological smart vibration damping system developed by his research team, covering its technical background, working principles, core products, practical application scenarios, and future prospects for industrialization. He also provided thorough answers to questions raised by the attending leaders.

Wang Hui stated that the Management Committee attaches great importance to the commercialization of university scientific and technological achievements. Several support measures have been introduced, including the establishment of special transformation funds, attracting social capital participation, and regularly holding achievement matchmaking events, all aimed at facilitating university-local-enterprise cooperation and accelerating the conversion of scientific and technological elements into real productivity. The official from the Jiangsu Science and Technology Resource Coordination Service Center also provided an overview of provincial-level science and technology plans, resource matching, and policy services, emphasizing their active support for high-tech achievements reaching the market.
This study visit, led by government departments, aimed to gain an in-depth understanding of the actual needs and challenges faced by the institute in the process of technology transfer, providing feasible suggestions for subsequent deeper university-local-enterprise cooperation. The institute will take this visit as an opportunity to further advance the application of scientific and technological achievements, striving to serve local economic and social development.
