On June 7, 2025, at the invitation of our institute, Professor Xing Fei, a PhD supervisor from Northeastern University and founder of Nanjing Zhongke Raycham Laser Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a special academic lecture at our institute. The lecture, titled “Intelligent Additive Manufacturing and Industry Applications of Laser Manufacturing Technology,” was attended by more than 20 faculty members and students. The session was chaired by Professor Yang Jiquan, Dean of the institute.

Professor Xing Fei currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the China Additive Manufacturing Industry Alliance and a member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Society for Laser Processing. He was selected for the Ministry of Science and Technology’s Leading Talent in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program. His main research focuses on laser intelligent manufacturing technologies, equipment systems, and their industrial applications. He has received three first-class and two second-class provincial and ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards.

In this lecture, Professor Xing began by discussing the industry background of laser manufacturing and additive manufacturing, introducing and analyzing the current status, development trends, and application scenarios of China’s high-end manufacturing equipment. He then provided a detailed overview of his team’s research achievements and series of products in the fields of intelligent additive manufacturing, intelligent laser welding, and intelligent water-guided laser technologies.

At the end of the lecture, Professor Xing also shared valuable experiences from founding Nanjing Zhongke Raycham Laser Technology Co., Ltd. After the presentation, he engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions with faculty members and students of our institute on the topics covered in the lecture.

Nanjing Zhongke Raycham Laser Technology Co., Ltd. is a co-construction member of our institute’s industrial-chain Party-building alliance. As both the company’s founder and a part-time professor at our institute, Professor Xing Fei actively facilitates a platform for industry–academia–research collaboration for our faculty and students. This event further deepened the institute–enterprise research cooperation and laid a solid foundation for jointly building high-level provincial research platforms.
