On June 18, 2019, at the invitation of School of NARI Electric and Automation, three professors from the UK-China Universities Consortium on Engineering Education and Research (UCEER), Dr. Li Kang, Dr. Wu Jianzhong and Dr. Yu Jian, visited Nanjing Normal University. Accompanied by the school dean professor Yang Jiquan, associate dean professor Ding Shuye and associate professor Wang Qi from School of NARI Electric and Automation, they went to the NARI Research Institute to conduct in-depth exchanges on personnel training, school-enterprise cooperation and transformation of research achievements. This exchange activity is of great significance to the further development of NNU's educational cooperation of UK-China and engineering personnel training.
UCEER is the first university consortium in China and the United Kingdom to feature engineering education and research. The consortium was established in May 2017 and consists of nine engineering universities (E9) of the China University of Excellence and nine UK universities from the Russell (University) group.
Professor Li Kang is the chief professor of the Smart Energy System at the University of Leeds, UK. He is the main sponsor of UCEER and serves as a member of the consortium 's UK Management Committee.
Professor Wu Jianzhong is the professor of Integrated Energy Systems and Director of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Cardiff University (one of the members of the Russell Group).
Professor Yu Jian is a Lecturer Professor at the Royal Academy of Engineering and doctoral tutor at Newcastle University, Manchester University and Glasgow University.
