At the invitation of the NARI electric and automation school of Nanjing Normal University and the Jiangsu engineering laboratory for integrated energy with electricity-gas interconnection, the part-time professor Yusheng Xue in Nanjing Normal University, who is also an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and the honorary president of State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, came to the Xianling campus of the university to carry out academic exchanges in October 16, 2017. In the meantime, he developed a special report in the Music Hall of the new north central school at 10 a.m., of which the theme is the cyber-physical social system in energy and its big data. In the lecture, more than 200 teachers and students were in attendance that include a number of leaders such as prof. Minqiang Hu the secretary of NNU Committee, prof. Lixin Tian the vice president of NNU, Xing Xu the secretary of NARI school, prof. Jiquan Yang the vice president of NARI school, and etc.
Prof. Yusheng Xue is an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and the honorary president of State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, China. He has made significant contributions in stability and automation theory of power system, and been the editor in chief of SCI journal “Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy” (MPCE) and EI journal “Automation of Electric Power Systems”. As the inventor of the quantitative stability analysis method and software of non-autonomous motion systems, Dr. Xue promotes the application and industrialization of an interruption defense system in eighty percent of power systems in China. He is the recipient of the first and the second National Science and Technology Progress Awards for one time and three times, respectively. Besides, He has also been awarded a 2nd National Technology Invention Award, a first prize award of the national science technology books and a nominee for the national book award of China.
After Lixin Tian vice president delivered a welcome speech, the lecture began. From the perspective of the development pattern of energy transformation, Prof. Xue explained the necessity of the transformation of CPSP (the cyber-physical system in power grids, namely the smart grid) to CPSE (the cyber-physical system in energy). Subsequently, the key effect of social factors was pointed out, and the concept of cyber-physical social system in energy (CPSSE) was put forward. Prof. Xue also illustrated that the research of society, physics, economy, policy, and interactive behavior should combine with the causal analysis, behavior analysis, statistical analysis and other research paradigms. On the basis, the depth knowledge to optimize the decision-making from a large number of heterogeneous data should be quickly extracted, and the deep integration between the data driven and the model driven, the artificial intelligence and the causal analysis need to be summarized as research methods. It was worth mentioning that Prof. Xue gave a lot of explanations in simple language by many research results of State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, which made the audience enjoy a spiritual feast. Finally, in the long standing applause, this academic report came to a successful conclusion.
