On the morning of December 26, the Suiyuan Campus of Nanjing Normal University was brimming over warmth no matter how cold the winter was. China’s first non-fiction research institute and the first high-end forum on non-fiction literature and art were unveiled at the same time. Jianming He, vice chairman of the Chinese Writers Association; Jianhua Zhang, chairman of the Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles; Xinwei Cui, a member of the Party Standing Committee of NNU and minister of publicity department; Anhua Zhou, director of Center in Asian Film Television and Media Studies of Nanjing University; and Ping Nan, deputy secretary general of the China Trademark Association were invited to attend the unveiling ceremony and the forum. Experts, scholars and industry representatives from Beijing, Nanjing, Suzhou, and other cities, as well as teachers and graduate students from the School of Chinese Language and Literature of NNU participated in the above activities. This forum was hosted by NNU, sponsored by the School of Chinese Language and Literature, and co-organized by the Department of Filmology (including TV) of NNU. NNU’s Filmology (including TV) was recognized as the national key discipline.
Experts and scholars believed that the non-fiction research institute serves as an important platform for research and studies on non-fictional literature and art in China. It will be an institution that features industry-university-research collaboration and emphasizes both theoretical research and practical application. It will definitely provide a bigger platform for the creation, research and dissemination of non-fiction literature and art across the country. NNU looks forward to its future prosperity.
