Campus Life | NNU’s 119th birthday welcomes its first “NNU Star”

Throughout the more than 100 years since NNU was founded the starlight has shined its glory on NNU. September 10th marks the 37th Teachers' Day and the 119th anniversary of the founding of Nanjing Normal University. The asteroid number 216446, discovered by the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was named "NNU Star" with the approval of the Small Bodies Naming Committee of the International Astronomical Union (IAU).

"From today, there is another guiding light for us to strive for our dreams in the starry sky." Minqiang Hu, Secretary of the NNU Committee of CPC, said, "When we look up at the starry sky, while feeling pride and glory, we should remember the responsibility and mission that NNUers shoulder."
