Professor Spas Dimitrov Kolev, from the School of Chemistry of the University of Melbourne, received his Ph.D at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary). He is the founding editor-in-chief of Membranes. He is also the member of the editorial board of Talanta, Environmental Modeling and Assessment, Sensors, Challenges and The International Journal of Analytical Chemistry. Spas has particular expertise in flow injection analysis, chemical sensors, membrane extraction and metal hyperaccumulating plants. He has published over 170 peer-reviewed articles in a number of international scientific journals, such as Environ. Sci. Technol., Anal. Chem., J. Membr. Sci. and Talanta, etc. He has made over 200 conference presentations and seminars at Australian and overseas universities.
