Jiangsu Provincial Key Laboratory of Materials Cycling and Pollution Control was approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education in 2014 as the professional institution in the field of theory research and technology development for environmental protection. With the help of environmental theories and engineering technologies for typical water, soil and atmospheric environment pollution stresses, the laboratory optimizes material recycling processes to improve the ecological environment and utilization, transformation and circulation of resources, improves the energy conversion efficiency and energy use process for pollutants emission reduction, recycling utilization of construction material, pollution control and ecological restoration to protect the environment and to ensure ecological security.

 

Currently, the laboratory has 40 members including 22 professors as academic backbone with 1 chief scientist of the National Program on Key Basic Research Project (973 Program), 1 grantee of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars Fund, 1 grantee of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, 3 grantees of the National Science and Technology Major Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, 4 academic leaders of "333 project" of Jiangsu Province, 4 academic leaders of "Blue Project" of Jiangsu Province. In 2014, laboratory members presided 49 scientific research projects (national project 19), totally 51.08 million yuan of funds. From 2011 to 2013, lab members published 222 research papers as first or corresponding author, including 74 SCI papers, 17 EI article, published 6 textbooks and monographs, assigned 37 of invention patents as the first inventor.
