The International Workshop on “Geospatial Intelligence and its Future for Disaster Risk Reduction and Environmental Resilience: Enhancing Leadership” was successfully held from 15–17 December 2025 at the International Keqiao Park and the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Shaoxing University. The three-day workshop brought together scholars, professionals, and students from 24 countries, participating both in person and online.

The workshop featured opening ceremonies, keynote presentations by distinguished international experts, and intensive hands-on training sessions focusing on GeoAI, social vulnerability assessment, flood susceptibility modeling, climate scenario analysis, and the Geospatial Infrastructure Management Ecosystem (GeoIME). Participants gained practical experience in applying advanced geospatial and artificial intelligence techniques to support disaster risk reduction and environmental resilience.

A highlight of the workshop was the keynote address delivered by Professor Jie Shen, from the School of Geography, Nanjing Normal University, who is also the Ph.D. supervisor of Ms. Mahdieh Shirmohammadi. Professor Shen’s keynote, co-sponsored by the School of Geography (Nanjing Normal University), provided strategic insights into map design and implementation for "resilience-Yangtze River Delta" based on big data. Ms. Mahdieh Shirmohammadi, a Ph.D. candidate at Nanjing Normal University, played a key role as an instructor, leading multiple hands-on workshop sessions and guiding participants through advanced spatiotemporal modeling and GeoAI-based analyses.

The event was jointly supported by Shaoxing University, Keqiao International Park, and the Zhejiang–Saudi Arabia Joint Laboratory, and was co-organized by ISPRS ICWG III/IVa (Disaster Management). It was further co-sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Geomatics (CIG), GeoGPT Ltd. (China), ECOCODE (Saudi Arabia), the School of Geography (Nanjing Normal University), and GeoIME Inc. (Canada). The workshop benefited from strong collaboration among academic institutions, industry partners, and international organizations.
