Primary Research Areas

  • Research focuses on spatio-temporal GIS and integrated spatial humanities and social sciences, with emphasis on historical GIS, archaeological GIS, and comprehensive studies of the Grand Canal geography.
  • Has led 4 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 1 sub-project under the National Key R&D Program, and 1 sub-project under the National Social Science Fund Major Project; spearheaded over 10 horizontal technology development projects. Published over 30 academic papers, including two in Humanit Soc Sci Commun (a sub-journal of Nature in humanities and social sciences). Obtained three national invention patents and six software copyrights.
  • Taught undergraduate and graduate courses including Geographic Information Services and Geographic Information Theory and New Technologies. Supervised over 10 university-level and higher undergraduate innovation training projects, guiding undergraduates to publish over 10 papers as first authors.
