Personal Profile

Lin Key, PhD, Professor, Master's supervisor, Distinguished Professor of Jiangsu Province. He is mainly engaged in research on urban ecosystems and sustainable urban development. In the past 5 years, he has published as the first/corresponding author in Nature Energy (IF= 49.7), Science Bulletin (IF= 18.8), Landscape and Urban Planning (2 articles, ranked 1/40 in the field of urban research), Urban Forestry and Urban Greening (5 articles, top international journals in the field of forestry) and other high-level journals. Greening (5 papers, top international journals in forestry field) and other high-level journals, and published 15 papers (including 7 papers in Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Region I, 7 papers in Region II TOP); co-authored 12 papers in high-level journals, such as Nature Reviews Earth & Environment, The Innovation Geoscience, and Geography Journal; results were selected by Nature Reviews Earth & Environment, The Innovation Geoscience and Geography Journal. He has published 12 papers in Nature Reviews Earth & Environment, The Innovation Geoscience and Journal of Geography, etc. His results have been selected as Research Highlight of Nature Reviews Earth & Environment, reported by China Geographic Society, and awarded “Excellent Young Scholar Award” by International Geographical Union in the field of geosystems modeling. He was also awarded the “Excellent Young Scholar Award” by the International Geographical Union in the field of geosystem modeling.

Field of research

  • 1. urban green space and ecosystem services: research on quantitative forest structure parameters and ecosystem services based on multi-source remote sensing data and urban forest information modeling, including shade, transpiration and temperature reduction, carbon sequestration and oxygen release, dust retention and pollution reduction, and interception of water flow and flood prevention.
  • 2. urban health and sustainable development: to study the pathways and mechanisms through which the urban ecological environment affects the physical and mental health of residents, and to explore how to improve the equity, resilience and sustainability of cities based on natural solutions.
  • 3. urban system modeling: study the human-nature coupling process, simulate the interactions among social, ecological and technological infrastructure systems of urban systems, and promote the modeling of human-land relationships in urban space and knowledge discovery.

Students from Geography (Geographic Information Science, Physical Geography, Human Geography), Remote Sensing Science, Environmental Science, Ecology, Urban Health, Landscape Planning, Town and Country Planning, Public Health, Computational Social Science, Sustainable Development and other related majors or backgrounds are welcome to bail out and apply!
