Research Interests
Professor Zhou has long been engaged in the research and system development of 3D geographic information related theories and methods, and has obtained a series of important academic results in 3D GIS data model, modeling methods and expression methods, which have been widely used at home and abroad and have achieved good social and economic benefits. At present, he mainly focuses on the research of urban 3D modeling and global discrete grid system.

- 1) In 2022, he won the first prize of "Geographic Information Science and Technology Progress Award" of China Association of Geographic Information Industry, ranking third in "Key Technology Research and Application of City-level Land Spatial Foundation Information Platform".
- 2) In 2021, the key technology and application of video GIS will be awarded the first prize of "Science and Technology Award of Surveying and Mapping" by Chinese Society of Surveying and Mapping, ranking the third.
- 3) In 2020, the key technology and application research of 3D rapid modeling of real estate cadastre in real estate, won the second prize of "Geographic Information Science and Technology Progress Award" of China Geographic Information Industry Association, ranked second.
- 4) In 2019, he won the second prize of "Geographic Information Science and Technology Progress Award" of China Association of Geographic Information Industry, ranking fourth in "Research on Key Technology of Natural Resources Classification and Expression Based on Earth's 3D Space".
- 5) In 2018, he participated in "Digital Processing of Remote Sensing Images" National Excellence Online Course, which was awarded "National Excellence Online Open Course" by the Ministry of Education of China, and ranked the third.
