Shuliang Zhang Professor

Bio: 

Personal Profile

Shuliang Zhang, born in September 1974, Doctor of Science, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the College of Geographic Sciences, member of CPC. He is currently the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Virtual Geographic Environment of the Ministry of Education, and also the director of the Teaching Committee of the College of Geographic Sciences, and the director of the Education Working Committee of China Geographic Information Industry Association. Dedicated to the research of theories and methods of geographic information science, he has pioneered a new direction in the research of spatial and temporal modeling and simulation of urban flooding, and solved the basic science and key technical problems of geographic information cognition and fusion faced by the connotative development of "one map" of urban underground pipelines, and the related results have been popularized and applied in more than 100 cities. He has trained more than 60 master's and doctoral students, and guided undergraduates to win more than 20 awards at provincial and ministerial levels, such as the second prize of "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Scholarly and Technological Works (Natural Science), the first prize of China Location Application Competition of Gaodu Map, and the special prize of National College Students' GIS Application Skill Competition. He has presided over 8 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 863 projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and 8 national key research and development sub-projects. He has published 9 textbooks and monographs in Higher Education Press and Science Press, and more than 200 papers. He has participated in the formulation of 8 national and industrial standards and 11 authorized patents. She has been awarded 9 provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological awards, including the Progress Award in Geographic Information Science and Technology. As the person in charge of the construction projects of national first-class professional construction site of geographic information science, national first-class curriculum, Jiangsu University "Blue and Blue Project" excellent teaching team, Jiangsu Province geographic information science brand specialty, Jiangsu Province curriculum demonstration program of ideology and politics, etc., he has long been devoted to the construction of the specialty and the undergraduate teaching work. He has won three second prizes of National Teaching Achievement Award and two special prizes of Jiangsu Teaching Achievement Award, and has been honored with "Hong Ai Elite Teacher Award", "Teaching Top Ten", "Outstanding Communist Party Member", "Teacher's Morality Advanced Individual", "Teacher's Morality Advanced Individual" and "Teacher's Morality Advanced Individual". He has been awarded many honors such as "Teachers' Virtues Advanced Individual", "Teachers' Education Award" and so on.
