On June 6, 2023, the Female College Student Development Forum under 2023 NNU Girls’ Day Program, which was organized by NNU’s Graduate School (Student Affairs Department) and Student Affairs Office and hosted by Ginling College, Yifang Academy, NNU Graduate Student Youth League Work Committee and Graduate Students Union, was successfully held in the Concert Hall of Guangle Building, Xianlian Campus. Focusing on cultivation and employment of female college students, the forum invited experts and scholars from government, enterprises, law firms and universities as special guests to contribute their views and ideas. The event was presided over by Bian Xia, President of Ginling College, and was attended by Zhou Yan, Director of the Graduate Student Work Department of the NNU Party Committee, Wang Haikang, Deputy Director of NNU’s Student Work Office and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Computer Science and Technology, leaders of Ginling College, and student representatives from different schools.

Director Zhou Yan delivered a speech to mark the beginning of the event. Ms. Zhou told that NNU has been committed to improving the quality of graduate students and been doing its best to help with students’ employment. She also thought highly of the activities carried out by Ginling College in combination with the characteristics of female education.

The event was divided into three sessions: keynote speech, roundtable forum and interaction. The keynote speech session invited Mr. Yang Jiudong, Deputy Director of the Employment Guidance Office of the Graduate Work Department of NNU Party Committee, Ms. Zhang Fan, senior human resource manager of Bangji (Nanjing) Grain and Oil Co., LTD., and Mr. Xu Xudong, lawyer of Jiangsu Yicheng Law Firm, legal aid lawyer of Jiangsu Federation of Trade Unions and member of the Legal Advisory Group of Jiangsu Federation of Industry, to conduct in-depth discussions on the employment of female college students.

The roundtable forum session was hosted by Ms. Yang Di, associate professor of the Department of Female Education, Ginling College. The three keynote speakers, Mr. Xu Xudong, Mr. Yang Jiudong and Ms. Zhang Fan, exchanged their views with Professor Zhang Xufan, Vice President of Ginling College on such topics as stereotypes toward female college students in job-seeking, marriage and career development of females, training of female elites, and how to improve the core competitiveness of females students in employment market. The guests’ witty remarks and golden sentences won bursts of applause from the students.

The interaction session was dominated by student questions. The questions ranged from macro social issues of “academic inflation”, "craze for civil service examination” and “craze for postgraduate examination” to micro ones concerning personal career choices. All the guests answered the questions with patience. In warm applause the event came to an end.
