Ginling College Held a Coordination Meeting on Major Change Work

Ginling College held a coordination meeting between teaching management and students development under the theme of major change work in the morning of March 27th in Room 513 of Xuezheng Building, XianLin Campus. Vice Party Secretary Feng Ning and Vice President Chen Ming attended the meeting. Other participates included the heads of two departments, class teachers, counselors and secretary of teaching affairs. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Chen Ming.

At the beginning, Vice President Chen Ming made arrangements and explanations on the major change work. He stated that this work was an important measure to optimize the professional layout of Ginling college and improve the quality of talent cultivation, which was directly related to the discipline construction and long-term development of Ginling college. He proposed that two departments should strengthen the publicity of majors of our college through introducing the characteristics and development prospects of each major so as to attract more students who meet the professional training requirements. In the meantime, two departments should also actively promote the progress of interview work for major change, appoint experienced teachers as judges, and standardize the evacuation and assessment process, ensuring the interview work proceed in a high-quality and orderly way.

Then, Vice Party Secretary Feng Ning made comprehensive arrangements based on student management work. She pointed out that the major change work covered a wide range and need the joint efforts and cooperation between teaching management and students development. She emphasized that counselors should strengthen the exchange with class teachers, accurately obtain students' intentions and real needs on major change, provide targeted academic guidance and career planning suggestions,and guide students to view the chance of major change in a rational way and make choices that are in line with their own development, so as to effectively protect the rights of students.

Finally, Feng Ning and Chen Ming inquired the key works such as the construction of internship bases, the implementation of class advisor, and the pass rate of student examinations. Participants exchanged opinions and shared work experience actively, sorted out existing problems and discussed solutions together. Through this way, work consensus had been further consolidated and work directions had been clarified.

This meeting, taking the major change work as the starting point, built an efficient communication platform and formed a working synergy for work. It not only clarified the specific requirements of major change, but also laid a solid foundation for the college to optimize teaching management, improve the quality and outcome of education, and implement related work in a high-quality way.
