On August 20, 2023, the final of the Home Service Manager Contest of the 8th National Business Service Manager Competition was successfully concluded in Tianjin.

The competition that covers eight service sectors has attracted nearly 600 contestants across the country, and the home service section, which was accessible to college students for the first time, attracted nearly 200 students from 24 colleges and universities. Starting from the preliminary contest in March this year, 38 students finally qualified for the final after rounds of theoretical and practical assessments.

5 Home Economics postgraduates of Ginling College, Nanjing Normal University were admitted into the final and after three days of intense competition they finally won one gold, three silver and one bronze awards. Yang Chen’s “We Know You-Community Home Service Store Management Plan” guided by Professor Xiong Xiaoyan, won the gold medal; Tan Wanli’s “Becoming a Home Service Store Manager with Vitality” guided by Associate Professor Wang Pei and Li Meng Bo’s “Home Service Stores with a Future Outlook” guided by Professor Zhao Yuan won the silver medal; Zhang Shuoqiu’s “Caring Home of the Elderly--Community Nursing Center for the Elderly”guided by Associate Professor Zhu Yunzhi won the silver Award, and Zhang Yuxin’s “Babies at Home--Home-Based Nursery” guided by Professor Zhao Yuan won the bronze award. Ginling College was granted the Excellent Organization Award, and Professor Zhao Yuan and Associate Professor Wang Pei won the Excellent Instructor Award.

In the competition the Ginling students have fully demonstrated their professional quality and social responsibility and the commitment of Ginling College to devote itself to developing home economics with a view to making contributions to China’s domestic service industry.
