On March 24, 2023, the opening ceremony of the 2023 Girls' Day was held in the lecture hall of the Guangyue Building at Xianling Campus.

Shen Mei, Level I Bureau Rank Official of Jiangsu Women's Federation, Sun Youlian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of NNU, principals of various departments and head of Ginling College attended the opening ceremony. Student representatives from various colleges also participated in the event. The ceremony kicked off with the solemn national anthem.

After the opening ceremony, the first lecture was given by Professor Jin Yihong, a well-known professor from Ginling College of Nanjing Normal University. Professor Jin gave an academic lecture on "Portraits of Chinese Women in New China: History and Memory" to the teachers and students present in the lecture hall.
