The grand final of the 19th National College Students' Social Practice and Science & Technology Competition on Energy‑Saving and Emission‑Reduction successfully concluded at Dalian University of Technology from July 31 to August 2. The entry of Ginling College, Nanjing Normal University “Empowering Rural Revitalization with Green Wisdom, Forging an Ecological Carbon Path: Exploring the Realization Model for the Value of Rural Ecological Products Driven by New‑quality Productivity — Field‑based Research across 12 Districts in Four Provinces” obtained the National First Prize. This entry belongs to the team Chen Wenhui and Xu Yue, undergraduates majoring in financial management (Class of 2023). They kept revising and refining their work and eventually delivering this high‑quality entry under the guidance of supervisor Chen Ming and full support from Ginling College. This award has fully demonstrated the outstanding capability of students from our college.

Guided by the Steering Committee for Energy and Power Disciplines under the Ministry of Education and hosted by the Competition Organizing Committee, this national competition closely responds to China’s major “Dual‑Carbon” strategy. It ranks among China’s highest‑level, most extensive and most influential undergraduate innovation‑practice platforms focusing on energy, environmental protection and management practice. A total of 7,773 entries from 735 universities nationwide takes part in this year’s competition, covering arts, sciences, engineering, agriculture and other disciplines. Both event scale and competition intensity reach an all‑time high.

Ginling College and Nanjing Normal University had delivered all‑round support and full backing since the launch of this competition. Secretary Zhou Hong made overall arrangements while Dean Feng Sixian provided meticulous guidance, laying a solid foundation for the team to conduct in‑depth research and thorough competition preparation. Core team members Chen Wenhui, Xu Yue and their supervisor Chen Ming had repeatedly polished the submission since March 2026.Centering on rural low‑carbon development and value transformation of ecological products, they kept refining project content and presentation. Advancing through successive rounds of selection — from the university‑level contest and provincial competition to national written review, national panel review, and on‑site presentation and defense at the grand final — the team finally be awarded both the First Prize of Jiangsu Provincial Competition and the National First Prize.

This honor reflects our students’ sense of responsibility for ecological civilization and commitment to the “Dual‑Carbon” mission, and bears witness to remarkable outcomes in talent‑training of our college. Upholding the philosophy of green development and aligning with national “Dual‑Carbon” strategic priorities, our college will leverage high‑level discipline competitions such as this event to further improve the innovation‑driven practical education system. We will encourage students to give full play to their professional strengths, hone their capabilities through green and low‑carbon innovation practices, and contribute youth‑powered support to ecological civilization development.
