At the invitation of International Federation of Home Economics (IFHE), Ginling Vice-Dean Xiaoyan Xiong, Professor Bangquan Jin and Lab Technician Chen Liu have attended XXIII IFHE World Conference on August 2, 2016, at which a German expert Elizabeth introduces the conditions of the aged in Brazil, Germany, Guyana, India, Japan and Switzerland. She holds that the change in demography has brought a change to the global society and that we should lay our emphasis on the needs of the aged to settle such challenge. She also thinks that health-care, nutrition and social support for the old will bring about a sustainable development.
Also at the Conference are Director Qunlong Wang with Home Economics Center of Shuren University (Zhejiang), Vice-Dean Ying Wu of School of Humanities of Jilin Agricultural University.
Ginling Professor Bangquan Jin introduces the pioneering rationale of kiwi pectin--Ginling's functional food--for the aged people's intestines; Ginling Technician Chen Liu presents a survey report of Nanjing's high-school students' cognition of nutrition and food choices; Ginling Vice-Dean Xiaoyan Xiong's report illustrates Per Capita Income, Added Values of Families' Wealth and Sense of Happiness in Jiangsu Province.
