Ginling College is one of the 28 schools of Nanjing Normal University. Its predecessor was historically famous Ginling College, the first women’s university of China, which was founded in 1915. Inspired by the unique educational ideals and college culture left by the ancient institution, today’s Ginling College is committed to cultivating elites with profound humanistic quality, solid professional foundation, broad academic vision, and a strong sense of "Abundant Life" and social responsibility.

The college has four undergraduate majors (Accounting, Financial Management, Labor and Social Security, and English), among which Accounting is admitted to the projects of National First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Site and Jiangsu University Brand Major Construction. Besides, it offers three undergraduate cooperative programs involving English (Sino-US 1+2+1), Accounting (Sino-Australian 2+2), and Financial Management (Sino-Australian 2+2), and academic master’s degree programs in Accounting, Social Security, Home Economics, Women’s Education and MPAcc program in Accounting. Undergraduate programs are mainly located in Xianlin Campus of Nanjing Normal University, while postgraduate programs in Suiyuan Campus.

In recent years, the college has developed featured programs in Accounting and Financial Management, Women’s Education, Home Economics, Social Security, etc., and is home to a number of research institutions, including Women/Gender Research and Training Base of All-China Women’s Federation, Gerontology Research Base of Jiangsu Province, Accounting and Financial Development Research Center of Nanjing Normal University, Government Budget Performance Management Institute of Nanjing Normal University, Jiangsu Home Economics Development Institute of Nanjing Normal University, etc.. Under the leadership of Professor Yang Xiongsheng, a national expert on accounting and professor of Nanjing University who has been specially invited as Dean of Ginling College to guide the development of the Accounting Department, the “Accounting Revitalization Project” of Nanjing Normal University has steadily advanced, with achievements of accounting discipline construction yielded and the college’s featured education on management and sociology enhanced.

International exchange is another feature of Ginling college. The school has established cooperative training programs in Accounting and Financial Management with Meredith University of the United States, Rennes Business School of France, Macquarie University of Australia and other overseas universities, and has maintained close academic ties with such institutions as the Albert Foundation of Germany. It has hosted the Ginling International Summit on Home Economics for many years. A number of faculty members have doctorates from prestigious overseas universities, and many have published papers in top international academic journals.
