He introduced in detail the provincial master's thesis " a Journey through the Media of a Young Man, zahi ". This is also the first time that Professor Zheng Xin has publicly introduced and evaluated this paper since this paper triggered widespread controversy in academic circles. Professor Zou Jun presided over this academic class.
The entire paper has firstly uncovered the students' true experiences, feelings and changes of Tibetan classes, how to realize personal socialization in various media environments in the Mainland, how to construct or deconstruct the identity of the nation and the nation. And this paper shows the contradiction between modernity and nationality in the growth of this group, the contradiction between acceptance of modern life, consumerism, the persistence and inheritance of the unique traditional culture of the nation. Compared with the reports of the mass media, the paper provides us with a new perspective and value.
Professor Zheng Xin listed the controversy caused by this paper and the main points. Before the thesis defense, the dispute mainly revolved around whether the paper belongs to an intradisciplinary paper? Is this case representative? After winning the award, the controversy focuses on whether this is a normative paper? Is there really a winning qualification?
Professor Zheng Xin thought that academic research should be like this. Valuable research can reflect the social value o; research on grounding gas should be close to social reality and are familiar; and it have humanities and social concerns. The research at the master's level should firstly describe the phenomenon clearly, instead of seeking theoretical breakthroughs and contributions. Because theoretical innovation is a highly difficult, we should pay attention to the actual situation and conduct a thorough investigation, rather than blindly linking theories.
Professor Zheng Xin also told the students that conducting academic research is not just reading books and stacking academic theories. It cannot be blindly followed and catered to hot spots and should be based on personal interests and practical issues. Having a consciousness of problem and academic concern, we should read books to enrich knowledge.
Professor Zheng's analysis was objective and profound, full of humanistic care. He extended and expanded the students' understanding and thinking of academic research in the field of journalism and communication, raising the enthusiasm of academic research.
