It is the 10th inter-university international humanitarian law moot court competition which held in China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). 32 teams participated in the competition and our law school team delegated by undergraduate student HE Yao and CHEN Yuyue, wins the first prize.
The competition includes two parts: memo drafting and oral argument. Each team needs to represent the prosecutor of International Criminal Court as well as the defend counsel. And judges are selected from the lawyers and scholars in International Humanitarian Law in the world. The Centre of this competition focuses on Roman Statute in international humanitarian law and other basic issues in international law.
This year our team is couched by assist professor Zhao Chen and the team members reviewed a lot of case and documents in the summer vacation and practiced a lot in their oral argument.
In the moot court competition, although it is the second time for our law school to participate in the competition. We win 7th place in the preliminary round and finally we got the first prize award it. Although we lost in the semifinals, our team members learn a lot from the participation.
