【Academic Report】Bangjie Chen Lecture 117 Homeostasis regulation of biomembranes

At the invitation of Professor Yu Haijia, School of Life Sciences, Nanjing Normal University, Professor Bian Xin, researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Medicinal Chemical Biology, Nankai University, held a seminar entitled ‘Homeostatic Regulation of Biomembranes’ in the circular conference room on the third floor of Xingzhi Building, Xianlin Campus of Nanjing Normal University on May 14, 2026. The lecture was hosted by Professor Yu Haijia, with the active participation of teachers and graduate students in related fields of the college.
The report focused on the two main research directions of Professor Bian Xin's laboratory in this field. First, Professor Bian began with mitochondria, introducing the mechanism of OPA1 in cristae remodeling and the dynamic changes of inner membrane fusion proteins, while emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in contemporary biological research. Subsequently, he turned to the biogenesis of autophagosomes, highlighting the assembly of the ATG2A complex and the physiological significance of its interactions. This report enhanced the attendees’ understanding of the regulation of membrane homeostasis.
After the report, the teachers and students at the meeting had a lively exchange and discussion around the content of the report. Professor Bian Xin answered the questions raised by everyone in detail. This wonderful report broadens the research ideas of teachers and students, brings new academic inspiration, and further stimulates everyone's interest and enthusiasm for scientific research.
