At the invitation of Professor Yu Haijia, School of Life Sciences, Nanjing Normal University, Professor Chang Shan, Director of the Institute of Bioinformatics and Pharmaceutical Engineering of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology held a seminar entitled ‘Structure prediction of protein-ligand complexes and its application research’ in the circular conference room on the third floor of Xingzhi Building, Xianlin Campus of Nanjing Normal University on December 20, 2024. The lecture was hosted by Professor Yu Haijia, with the active participation of teachers and graduate students in related fields of the college.

In this report, Professor Chang Shan first introduced the CoDock algorithm model designed by the team and the achievements of these algorithm models in the CASP-CAPRI competition. Next, he shared with the achievements of their team from three aspects: protein/RNA-Ligand complex structure prediction, protein-protein complex structure prediction and application of protein complex structure prediction, as well as the transformation of these algorithm models in practical applications. Finally, Professor Chang Shan also shared the one-stop biological computing platform built by his team.

After the report, the teachers and students at the meeting had a lively exchange and discussion around the content of Professor Chang Shan's report. Professor Chang Shan answered the questions raised by everyone in detail. This wonderful report broadened the research ideas of teachers and students, brought new academic inspiration, and further stimulated everyone's interest and enthusiasm in scientific research.
