【Academic Report】Bangjie Chen Lecture 75 Regulation of ribosome homeostasis
At the invitation of Professor Yu Haijia, School of Life Sciences, Nanjing Normal University, Professor Yi Cong, Researcher of ‘Hundred Talents Programme’, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, held a seminar entitled ‘Regulation of ribosome homeostasis’ in the circular conference room on the third floor of Xingzhi Building, Xianlin Campus of Nanjing Normal University on April 25, 2025. The lecture was hosted by Professor Yu Haijia, with the active participation of teachers and graduate students in related fields of the college.

In the beginning of the report, Professor Yi Cong introduced the discovery of cellular autophagy, the types of cellular autophagy, and some previous widely agreed knowledge related to autophagy. Next, Professor Yi took ribosomal autophagy as the main topic and described some research methods related to ribosomal autophagy. Furthermore, he highlighted the discovery process of a new ribosomal autophagy receptor they discovered, its role in ribosomal autophagy, and the related regulatory mechanisms. This report enhanced the understanding of ribosomal autophagy and the regulation of ribosomal homeostasis.

After the report, the teachers and students at the meeting had a lively exchange and discussion around the content of the report. Professor Yi Cong answered the questions raised by everyone in detail. This wonderful report broadens the research ideas of teachers and students, brings new academic inspiration, and further stimulates everyone's interest and enthusiasm for scientific research.
