【Academic Report】Bangjie Chen Lecture 80 cGAS-STING DNA immune signalling pathway regulation mechanism and drug research
At the invitation of Professor Yu Haijia, School of Life Sciences, Nanjing Normal University, Dr. Zhang Congang, researcher from the School of Pharmacy, Tsinghua University, gave a lecture entitled “cGAS-STING DNA immune signalling pathway regulation and drug research” in the Multifunctional Conference Room on the third floor of Xingzhi Building, Xianlin Campus of Nanjing Normal University on May 19, 2025. The lecture was hosted by Professor Yu Haijia, with the active participation of teachers and graduate students in related fields of the college.

In this presentation, Dr. Zhang first introduced the basics of natural immunity and the cGAS-STING signalling pathway. Next, with the cGAS-STING signalling pathway as the main subject, Dr. Zhang talked about the mechanism and regulation of this pathway, as well as his group's cutting-edge discoveries and research progress on this pathway. Finally, Dr. Zhang introduced some of the drugs discovered by the group targeting the cGAS-STING signalling pathway and the specific mechanisms of these drugs. This report enhanced the understanding of the cGAS-STING DNA immune signalling pathway regulation mechanism.

After the report, the teachers and students at the meeting had a lively exchange and discussion around the content of the report. Dr. Zhang answered the questions raised by everyone in detail. This wonderful report broadens the research ideas of teachers and students, brings new academic inspiration, and further stimulates everyone's interest and enthusiasm for scientific research.
