【Academic Report】“Chen Bangjie Forum” 64th: Neural Regulation of Instinctive Behaviour and Gender Differences

The 64th session of the 'Chen Bangjie Lecture Theatre' was successfully held at 9:00 a.m. on 20 November in the round conference room on the third floor of Xingzhi Building. Professor Pan Yufeng of Southeast University, invited by Professor Li Bin of the School of Life Sciences at Nanjing Normal University, delivered a lecture on the subject of 'Neural Regulation of Instinctive Behaviour and Gender Differences'. The lecture was hosted by Professor Li Bin of the School of Life Sciences, and all the teachers and students were actively engaged in the proceedings.

In his lecture, Professor Pan elucidated the pivotal regulatory mechanisms of instinctive genes in Drosophila courtship and other behaviours, while also introducing the latest research progress on related topics. Subsequently, Professor Pan elucidated the distinctions in gene expression resulting from gender-based variations and their subsequent influence on Drosophila behaviour. Following the lecture, Prof Pan Yufeng engaged in an animated discourse and exchange with the attending teachers and students. He responded to queries pertaining to experimental methodologies, technical challenges and prospective research directions, and urged all present to pursue further investigation into Drosophila neuromodulation and behavioural mechanisms, thereby enhancing their comprehension and enthusiasm for scientific research.
