【Academic Report】 "Chen Bangjie Lecture" 118th session:Structure and Dynamics of Island Bird Frugivory Networks

At 10:00 AM on May 18, 2026, the 118th session of the "Chen Bangjie Forum" hosted by the School of Life Sciences was successfully held at Multifunction Meeting Room of Xuexing Building. Professor Xingfeng Si from Zhejiang University delivered an academic report titled "Structure and Dynamics of Island Bird Frugivory Networks". The lecture was chaired by Professor Yanping Wang, and was actively attended by faculty members and students of the School of Life Sciences.
During the report, Professor Xingfeng Si first introduced the research background of island bird frugivory networks, emphasizing that the structure and dynamics of such networks constitute a hot topic in the study of island biogeography. Subsequently, using the Thousand Island Lake system in China as a platform, Professor Si elaborated in detail on the research findings of his group in recent years. These findings provide unique insights into the structure and dynamics of island bird frugivory networks.
After the lecture, attending faculty and students raised questions related to the content of Professor Si’s report, to which Professor Si gave patient answers and further shared his insights and experience in this research field. The lecture broadened attendees’ perspectives on the structure and dynamics of island bird frugivory networks and offered valuable research ideas and inspiration to both faculty and students.
