【Academic Report】 "Chen Bangjie Lecture" Issue 81: Epigenetic Regulation Mechanism of Fungal Drug Resistance
On the morning of May 21st at 10:00, the 81th session of the "Chen Bangjie Lecture Hall" of the School of Life Sciences has been successfully held in the circular conference room on the third floor of the Xingzhi Building in Xianlin Campus. At the invitation of Professor Ling Lu from College of Life Sciences Nanjing Normal University, Professor Chen Changbin from the Shanghai Institute of Immunology and Infection Chinese Academy of Sciences presented an academic report entitled "Epigenetic Regulation Mechanism of Fungal Resistance" to all teachers and students. The lecture was hosted by Professor Lu, with active participation from teachers and students.

In this report, Professor Chen first introduced the serious threat posed by fungal infections to global public health security, the important milestone events in antifungal drug research, the mechanism of action of antifungal drugs, and the current research status of antifungal drugs. Then, he focused on the important research progress made by his research group in discovering new targets, mechanisms of action, strategies, and ideas for antifungal drugs, with highly pathogenic and drug-resistant pathogenic fungi as the main research objects. This report has strengthened everyone's understanding of the importance of pathogenic fungi.
After the report, the attending teachers and students had a lively exchange and discussion around the content of the report. Professor Chen patiently answered the questions raised by everyone, and the atmosphere on site was lively. This lecture is the 80th edition of the "Chen Bangjie Lecture Hall" at the School of Life Sciences. The wonderful report broadened the research ideas of the majority of teachers and students, and also allowed everyone to deeply experience new ideas from the forefront of academia. The presentation ended successfully with warm applause.
