Speaker: Lin Liu, Professor

Host: Prof. Fuliang Du

Time: 1:30 pm, Nov. 13th, 2019

Place: Seminar Hall, College of Life Sciences, Nanjing Normal University

Prof. Lin Liu, professor of College of Life Sciences, Nankai University, invited by Prof. Fuliang Du, presented a scientific seminar entitled “Reconstitution of ovarian function via novel approaches using pluripotent stem cell technology” at College of Life Sciences on Nov 13, 2019.

Prof. Lin Liu was distinguished professor of "Yangtze River Scholar" of the Ministry of Education, winner of national fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Chief Scientist of 973 program, mainly engaged in reproductive medicine and developmental biology. His studies were founded by key projects of NSFC, international cooperation projects between China and Canada, major national transgenic projects, and published more than 100 SCI papers in major international professional journals.

In the report, Prof. Liu Lin discussed the relationship between pluripotent stem cells, telomere regeneration and reproduction in a rigorous way based on his own research results and the latest international progress. He has been engaged in the research of meiosis and aging of oocytes, early embryonic development, nuclear transfer cloning, embryonic stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells and so on. At present, his main research direction are the role and mechanism of telomere regeneration and epigenetic regulation in embryogenesis and tumorigenesis, the mechanism of ovarian aging and anti-aging.
