Academic report: Study on interaction proteins between Spiroplasma eriocheiris and host

On June 9, 2017, Dr. Qingguo Meng gave us a talk about the interaction proteins between Spiroplasma eriocheiris and host. He began with an introductory section about the pathologic characteristic of Spiroplasma eriocheiris infection. He further elaborated his research about interaction proteins between Spiroplasma and Rosenbergii hemocytes. He found and identified that the NSE of Spiroplasma can interact with LGBP, this result suggest that phenol oxidase system plays an important role in the Spiroplasma infection process. Meanwhile, he screened the interaction proteins between Spiroplasma and mice, and found that adhesion protein on the membrane of Spiroplasma could affect the EGFR signaling pathway in 3T6. He's findings lay a solid foundation for the study of the pathogenic mechanism of Spiroplasma infection.
